Terry grew up in the Hoosier state of Indiana, graduating with a BS-Operations Management, MBA-Entrepreneurship, and MS-Residential Property Management from Ball State University before moving to Alaska with his wife. While managing large multi-family apartment communities, Terry helped establish the Property Management and Real Estate curriculum program in UAA's College of Business and Public Policy and founded Fields Real Estate Education, a company that provides real estate training, consulting, and continuing education for licensees.
Today, Terry is the Program Director and Associate Professor for the Weidner Property Management and Real Estate Program at UAA; the Broker/Owner of Fields Real Estate, LLC; and the Instructor/Owner of Fields Real Estate Education. Additionally, Terry serves on local and national education committees for the Institute of Real Estate Management and as the Board Treasurer for two local non-profit groups: Denali Family Services and The Magic Yarn Project.
